Using Accessible Media in the Classroom

Research shows that multimedia is beneficial to all students.  However, it is not easy to find educational media with quality captions and audio descriptions. The Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP) is a free, federally funded program that provides accessible educational media and much more.

This presentation will discuss the benefits of accessible media in universal design for learning and provide criteria for evaluating the quality of the accessibility feature. Participants will leave with strategies for incorporating media into live and remote learning settings and will learn where to find high-quality, accessible educational media.This presentation will discuss the benefits of accessible media in universal design for learning, as well as, provide criteria for evaluating the quality of the accessibility feature.
